We will be open from 12.30pm to 6.30pm on the two Bank Holidays on Monday 4th June and Tuesday 5th June 2012.

IALS generally operates the same opening hours during academic vacations as during term:

Monday to Friday 9.00am to 8.00pm (Last admission to Library 7.45pm)
Saturday 10.00am to 5.30pm (Last admission to Library 5.15pm)

Extended Opening Hours 2012

IALS Global Law Library is very pleased to announce that we will be extending our normal opening hours in the period
from Monday 9th January to Friday 15th June 2012 . We will open longer on weekdays and additionally on Sundays:

Monday to Friday:  9.00am to 11.00pm
(current IALS Library card or SAScard holders only after 7.45pm) (Last admission to Library 10.45pm)
Saturday:                  10.00am to 5.30pm (Last admission to Library 5.15pm)
Sunday:                    12.30pm to 6.30pm
(current IALS Library card or SAScard holders only) (Last admission to Library 6.15pm)

Closing Bells - Two warning bells are rung each day to indicate that the Library will be closing soon. The first warning bell is rung 25 minutes before the building closes. The second warning bell is rung 15 minutes before the building closes. Members are requested to complete their work and pack up and leave the library after the second bell.

Please note that these extended hours apply only to IALS Library. All IALS academic rooms close at 8.00pm on weekdays and all day on Sundays.

IALS during the Olympic Games 27 July to 12 August 2012

The Olympic Games are being held in London from Friday 27 July to Sunday 12 August 2012. The Media Transport Hub at Russell Square (see below) will be in operation from 16 July to 12 August 2012. There will be significant travel disruption generally in London and local disruption around Russell Square.

IALS and IALS Global Law Library will be open throughout this period. Normal Opening Hours should apply. Some services may be at risk. Any variations in hours or services will be notified. Readers travelling from a distance are advised to avoid this period if possible.

During this time, entrance to IALS will be via the disabled access ramp which opens onto Russell Square.

Annual stock moving and Library refurbishment work 14th Sept - 1st October 2012

The Library will close to readers at 5:00pm on Friday 14th September 2012 for essential annual stock moving and refurbishment work and will re-open at 9:00am on Monday 1st October 2012. The Document Supply Service for subscribers will continue to operate as normal during this period.
